Breakfast at the Nonna's

«Della Nonna» means «the grandmother's». A guest once wrote on our Facebook page that the food was «worthy of our grandmothers». We kept the phrase.

  • Gallo pinto

    Rice and beans cooked together — the everyday Nicaraguan breakfast. Ours comes out of the pot, not a microwave.

  • Cuajada and cream

    Fresh Nicaraguan cheese, soft and salty, with cream. Perfect with a warm tortilla.

  • Fried plantain

    Ripe plantain browned in the pan. Sweet, and the exact counterweight to the gallo pinto.

  • Corn tortilla

    Thick, warm and made of corn. It is the bread of the Nicaraguan table.

  • Eggs

    Scrambled or fried, however you like them. Just let us know the night before.

  • Nicaraguan coffee

    Highland coffee, the kind that made the country known for it. Served on the terrace when the day allows.
